Giuliana Lazzerini

A few years ago bought a couple of cards by this artist.
http://www.giulianalazzerini.com/

Giuliana Lazzerini was born in Seravezza near Pietrasanta in Tuscany. Between 1962 and 1968 she was a student at the Istituto D'Arte Stagio Stagi in Pietrasanta, gaining a Master of Arts Diploma. This was followed by a further four years studying painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara.
The Tuscan landscape and childhood memories still bear a strong influence upon the artist's current work. In an earlier statement she describes her first encounters with art in Italy as a child in her father's mosaic studio. She refers to the "translucency of the mosaic fragment" and her "fascination with the vibrancy of colour" from the juxtapositioning of the pieces.

Bunnies a la Piece O'Cake

The orginal quilt is called Garden Blooms.

This is a quilt that I made for a friend who is having Baby
The spots are bright, the pattern is based the above Piece o'cake quilt.
But I chose to use bunnies rather than the flowers

Cushions and birds

The cushions are made with beige linen, and some fabric scraps.
The green is an Amy Butler fabric Gypy Caravan I think, the brown is an older Kaffe Fassett and the turquoise is a Joel Dewberry print.

This is the decoration on a quilt
made from Kaffe Fassett fabric.
It is very rich.
There are a few of these little birds embroidered on the quilt.

Blue Skies

Close-ups of the Blue Skies Quilt

It was made with 6 inch squares in shades of Mid blue and Cream and white and two inch square sewn onto each corner to form the corner triangles. Alternate squares are blue and cream.
The over all effect is of circular shapes. The pattern is called Snowball.
The border fabric is from the Sunwashed collection by Karla Eisenach of Sweetwater.

I chose the backing because it is completely different to the quilt while still retaining the blue theme
